CCIXR at Portsmouth University.
The Centre for Creative and Immersive Extended Reality (CCIXR) is the UK’s first integrated facility that brings together a full suite of the latest XR technologies under one roof.
Working closely with the University from inception to completion, D84 produced a design to house a wide range of digital technologies for the creative arts.
The resulting facility is unique in the UK and one of very few in the world to house this combination of digital studios in one place. Both the client and their architects are proud of the results of this project; it has enhanced the University’s growing reputation and is attracting talented students from all corners of the globe.
Virtual stages, a motion capture studio, green screen filming facility, photogrammetry studio, and virtual reality suites all combine to create this brand new faculty in the heart of the city.
Constructed by Overbury, CCIXR is now open for business.
